Himalayas - Dev Prayag

Himalayas - Dev Prayag

The last prayag where Alakananda now becomes Ganga, after meeting with Bhagirathi.

Through the prayers of King Bhagirathi, the liquid love of Radha and Krishna descended in the form of River Ganga from the spiritual world to the earth. The pressure being too high, Lord Shiva took it on his matted hair and split her energies into various parts to originate as Ganga on earth - Satopanth, Bhagirathi, Alaknanda, Vishnuganga, Dhauliganga, Nandakini, Pindar, and Mandakini.
